The Titanic

We were learning about the Titanic. I really enjoyed doing the writing. It was hard to spell some of the words.
My painting shows the Titanic sailing.

The Dental Clinic

Yesterday the men moved the dental clinic with  a big digger.
I thought it was going to fall in the ditch. There were metal skids. They broke the fence for the digger to get through. The digger was huge.
He snapped some pine tree branches when  he moved the dental clinic. The bridge  looked like it was going to break. It wrecked some of the garden and the grass. They had to make a track for the dental clinic.It made mucky tracks on the grass.
 When they first tugged the chain snapped.
Where the dental clinic was it left a big dirty pit.

We have reading  historical stories. I chose the Titanic because I was interested in what happened to ship.

Matawai Action Selfie

Today I was learning  how to do a selfie.
I enjoyed choosing the background.
I found it challenging to get the fishing rod into the right position.

Matariki

We planted garlic for Matariki. We dug 5 centimetres deep. The garlic smelled like pasta. We had to loosen the
soil. We sprinkled lime on the soil. We had to put the pointed end facing up. It was  crescent shaped. Garlic can be planted between April and August in a sunny spot  in the garden. Break the bulb into cloves. The skin of the garlic was papery. When the garlic is ready to harvest the leaves turn yellow. Garlic is related to onions.

Webs in The Frost

Going out in the frost gave us great ideas for writing.

Late that night the spiders were weaving and threading 

in the moonlight.

Dodging the damp dew drops.

The spiders swing to web to web.

Catching sleepy flies in the moonlight.

Eight hairy legs threading back and forward.

Setting an invisible trap.

Hanging its sticky trap to dry.

Two toed feet.

Cousins  of camels.

From South America.

Spits at prey.

Baby llama are crias.

With pads on the bottom of their feet.

Short furry tail.

Long woolly coat.

Llama are  very strong mammals.

Wolves

We are learning about animals of the world and the continent they come from.
My animal is the wolf.
Wolves live in the north pole.
Pups
Wolf pups live in dens.
Wolf pups fight to decide who is the strongest.

My name is Tom. I go to Matawai School. I live on a farm with two sisters.   We have sheep and cattle. I like hunting and fishing.

My favourite sport is soccer. I love animals. I want to get better at reading. I  love to go eeling at home in the stream. When I catch them we eat them.
